Rays of Hope

Rays of Hope is hosted by Amy Clevidence of the Purchase Area Sexual Assault and Child Advocacy Center, and features various issues related to sexual violence, prevention information and intervention techniques. The program is designed to educate viewers about the services available to them, the effects of sexual violence and opportunities that exist should they choose to become involved in the effort to make McCracken County a safer community for all.

SART - August, 2013
SART stands for Sexual Assault Response Team and is the term used to describe an evidentiary medical exam. If you decide to file a police report and that agency makes a decision to order a SART, the exam does two things: provides sensitive and thorough medical care and collects evidence that may be helpful to the prosecution of your case.

PASAC Executive Director and host Amy Clevidence sits down with our local SART to discuss their purpose and what they do to make a positive impact in our community.

Anti-Bullying - October 15, 2012
Morgan Elementary School has partnered with the Purchase Area Sexual Assault Center to institute and anit-bullying and prevention education program. The goal is to stop bullying before it starts. It teaches children how to identify bullying, know what to do if they are bullied, and how they can help others who are being bullied. PASAC and Morgan Elementary are educating children as young as kindergarten age to get an early start on an issue that can hopefully be eradicated through positive reinforcement and education.

PASAC Executive Director Amy Clevidence will take you into Morgan Elementary and who you how this program works. She'll talk to educators, administrators and students who are experiencing benefits firsthand. All of this and more in this episode of Rays of Hope.
